The type of soiling can be divided into three areas:
Typical organic contamination in the laboratory includes proteins, fats/oils and carbohydrates.
Typical inorganic residues found in the laboratory include e.g. watery solutions of inorganic acids (e.g. hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid) and alkaline solutions (sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide) or salt solutions (sodium chloride, sodium nitrate, iron chloride etc.).
In the microbiological area it is often necessary to remove growth media, nutrient broth and microorganisms from the laboratory glass.
